AKA "Welp, I'm AUing this asshole, let's give him some backstory"
Gabriel Hargreeves was one of the 43 children born spontaneously on October 1st, 1989. His mother, Diana, was a college student at the time and while she didn't want to give him up, the opportunity to have enough money to cover her education on top of her boyfriend telling her that letting the unexpected baby go was too much for her to say no to.
So, with that, Gabe was raised to become a member of the Umbrella Academy. Unlike his original timeline where he died as an infant and lingered only as a hallucination/ghost (depending on your interpretation), this Gabe had the chance to actually grow up, this time as a member of a family of teenage superheroes. Gabe came to be known as The Nightmare due to his ability to give anyone within his line of sight vivid hallucinations.
Like most of his siblings, Gabe left home and decided to re-invent himself. He eventually threw himself into school, graduating with a degree in marketing and landing a cushy job at an ad agency. That is, at least, until his dad died and he had to go home.
Much like his ghostly canon counterpart, Gabe is kind of an asshole. He's cocky, he thinks he's almost always right, and he can't help but get into other people's business. That being said, he does have some redeeming qualities and he really does care about his family, even if he does suck at showing it.
